We feel it is a good idea to have keypads BOTH inside and outside of the gate for ease of access to your yard without needing a remote handy. These keypads to not have to be wired. Wireless keypads, which we install, work well. They do require periodic battery changes.
Yes, you will need a strong Wi-Fi signal, from your home, at the gate location. The MyQ app will allow you to open and close the gate utilizing your phone. A Wi-FI signal and cell signal are required.
Yes, as long as your operator receives approximately 8-10 hours of sunlight per day.
Many times a gate operator may not open your gate properly due to an obstruction to the photo eye sensor. The photo eye sensor operates similar to a garage door opener. A beam is sent from one side of the gate to the other. If the connection is hindered by things like moisture, or being inadvertently knocked out of alignment, your gate will not operate correctly. Check the light on the photo eye first. If it is red, and stays red when you try to open the gate, this may be the issue. Wipe any moisture away from the eye and confirm that it is level. You should be able to manually adjust the eye for leveling. Try the operator again. If you are still having issues after this, please give us a call.
